The Voyage to Run Timberliner Trains in 2010 09 Nov 09 - Posted by Mike
The all-new Timberliner trains will debut in 2010 on The Voyage at Holiday World, the world’s #1 wooden roller coaster. Produced by Gravitykraft Corporation, a sister company to The Gravity Group, two 28 passenger trains will glide around the track providing a much more comfortable ride in addition to decreasing wait time. These revolutionary trains also significantly reduce maintenance on the train and the track.
Holiday World just announced this information in their news release where once can find additional information and more images. Here’s one view of the Timberliner trains sporting the Voyage blue.
In case you have been following Gravitycast, this news has nothing to do with the previous post about the second IAAPA ad.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Looking forward to riding these next year. Congratulations!!
It looks like these trains will help my boney knees from slamming into each other.
Those old standard trains were do-able for a rider once or twice a visit, but always too aggressive to allow for a full experience of The Voyage’s beautiful layout and terrain. The ride will no doubt be just as intense. These make me happy.
Ah… legroom. Hope everything goes smoothly in the spring!
I simply can’t wait to ride these trains on Voyage. These trains should be put onto every coaster that does not have GCI trains on them.
Please make a set for Son of Beast!
this rolling stock kills what i thought would be so special about voyage .. i thought gg was about pure wood experience .. yuck ..
Just like dippin’ dots… “the roller coaster train of the future.” They look awesome!
Jay, it’s good to hear your opinion. What specifically about the design don’t you like?
Lots of strong opinions on this one! Personally, I think they look pretty good, if a little cumbersome. They seem far heavier than the testing videos, for example. Millennium flyers have a light grace to them, and I dunno… these (at least seem) to look a lot heavier.
Many more opinions here:

Mostly questions on whether the airtime will be the same. I get the feeling the skeptics will need to see(/ride) it in the flesh to believe it.
The trains look great! I will have to make a trip out to holiday world just for this. Good Job. BTW: I agree with Jim Arthur about making them for Son of Beast.
I’m not so concerned about the airtime being the same as losing the out of control feeling that the non-steering trains provide. Sliding through the turns and bouncing between the rails a bit is part of what makes a wood coaster different from the steel variety. I am excited about the roominess of the seats and the lack of a capacity-killing seatbelt though. It’s just gonna take time to get over the departure from the traditional look and feel that I’m such a big fan of.
Gravity Group, I think what Jay is saying is that this will kill the whole out of control wooden coaster experience. Hard to say until I take a ride on one, and i havent tried the voyage with the old school trains, so sadly I will have no comparison.
I think you folks should contact kings island and try to sell a few trains to them for the Son Of Beast. I think they would solve a lot of problems. It would be a shame to see that huge coaster come down.
Yea it would be cool to have them on the Son of Beast, but it will probably never run again Because its cost 30 million dollars so far to the park. And the designers of it even said it was more than is worth, and they said that before the two accidents, but i hope it runs again
