A new Gravity Group woodie is coming to Gröna Lund in downtown Stockholm, Sweden for 2011.  This retro styled and named wooden roller coaster, dubbed Twister, intertwines with a number coasters and rides and anchors the park’s boardwalk area. Akin to our crazy coaster designs at Indiana Beach that intertwine with other coasters and flat rides, this compact thriller will leave riders giddy and in wonder of what they just experienced.

Gröna Lund is a beautiful park located in the heart of Stockholm, Sweden.  Like most urban parks, there isn’t much room for new attractions.  So you need to be very creative with each ride installation.  The park has a history of intertwining rides together.  A few years back they wove a Wild Mouse coaster in with their existing Jetline coaster.  And so the idea of building a wooden coaster in and around other attractions in the park was expected.  We worked closely with the park on every aspect of the design of the ride.  It has been a challenge and a pleasure to create a wooden coaster design that fits into the available space.  I think this ride will surprise many people.
