Going Up! 02 Oct 08 - Posted by Korey
Chad and I recently ventured to China to visit the construction site of our latest wooden coaster design. The ride is part of a brand new amusement park that is being built near Shanghai. Here’s a picture that was taken shortly after the first bents were hoisted into position.

The ride is being built by Martin & Vleminckx. Paul is the project manager for M&V. It was pretty exciting to be to see the structure go vertical. I’ll post more about our trip to China soon.
I see that Fireball will not be a Hybrid. Why is that and does that change the ride experience in any way.
By Hybrid, we assume you mean it does not have a steel structure. Similar to Kemah Boardwalk’s Boardwalk Bullet (see our portfolio), this ride was chosen to be a wooden structure by the park. In general a wood structure only changes the visual ride experience.
